So far, so good. 17-year-old Falstaff Spottymac Tabby has adopted kittens before and he seems pleased with this one. 13-year-old Beatrice Hideaway is still in the bedroom and hasn't met the newcomer yet. It's only his first day here. He believes he owns the place.
Unlike the average 30-day-old kitten, Rainie Cosmo Brown enjoys sleeping on laps and shoulders, in addition to running through the house like a maniac on fire. Like Falstaff and Bruce before him, Cosmo thinks Lion Brand Homespun is the best yarn in the world.
In the picture, you can see that Cosmo, like most black cats (who do not have Siamese ancestry) are actually black-on-black tabbies. Just like a black leopard, in the right light, shows himself to be a black cat with black spots. I always thought that was cool.
Better pictures will have to wait until I can use the desktop computer with GIMP. Here on the netbook with Picasa, I can't brighten the BLACK cat without washing out the rest of the photo. Ah, the joy of photographing black cats ... lots of time spent with mask layers. Cosmo does not like flash and neither do I. I am on the netbook in the living room because I do not want to leave The Boys alone, nor do I want Cosmo to venture upstairs yet. He has been Very Good about the litter box, but I don't want to push it or risk him getting lost.
Things were awfully quiet around here after Bruce died. They are not quiet now. Here we go again.
