College boy survived his sophomore proficiency jury this spring and thus is allowed to continue as a Jazz Studies performance major. We will not speak of just how surprised and relieved his parents are about this. He's taking a couple of summer courses so he can stay in DeKalb and out of the house. This is a good sign. Music majors should not be too fond of their parents' basement.
Which reminds me: more details to follow, but how's this for a concept we've been kicking around in Chicago: Mamas & PAPAs one-shot reunion issue.
