Happy Pulaski Day
Mar. 7th, 2011 11:24 amChicago in early March is the Land of Freezing Drizzle. What better time to party? This year it's all mashed together like a black hole: Casimir Pulaski Day, Mardi Gras, St. Paddy's and the lingering effects of Chinese New Year. There are leftover Peking noodles in the fridge but tomorrow is paczki day and tonight they're serving cajun tapas at our favorite BBQ/Mexican spot (no I am not making that up). The Uke Club can't keep up: do we play When the Saints Go Marching In? Or My Wild Irish Rose? Or, more likely, both. Perhaps at once.
Casimir the headless musket gunner. Poland's bravest son. They can still see his headless body ride with Washington, in the muzzle flash of Casimir's musket gun...
Whatever holidays you're celebrating, have a great one!
