Hand to God, I just felt THIS in Chicago.  Two distinct waves of very mild shaking.  Might have been more, but it took a while for me to notice and realize there were no trucks or freight trains nearby.  How about you?

[Consults online logbook, checks Todd's motion sensors]

Yup, the Tevatron saw wiggles at about 12:55 CDT.

There was an earlier quake at about 00:53 today.

By the way, your post is part of a trend:

When the ground starts shaking, there is a deep primal urge that wells up and says: hey, did you feel that? Just another proof that we are, after all, only moderately evolved social primates.

I reported in to the USGS, though I had to wait a few hours until their server traffic settled down. AP reports that the press pool on Martha's Vinyard lit up with tweets, texts and emails just seconds before the quake was felt -- which indicates that Twitter travels slightly faster than P waves over whatever distance that is.

Quakes in Colorado and now Virginia, with New Madrid stoically quiet in the middle. So far.
