Improvisation for the Young Fan

DucKon attendees: e_m_b and I are leading an improv games workshop on Saturday afternoon.  It's part of the kids' programming track but all ages are encouraged to attend because fans... well... never really grow up do they?   Conference G at 5:00 p.m. unless things change.

Moebians are also leading a comedy writing workshop at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Conference F. 

EMB and I won't be at DucKon on Sunday ... because it's ever so much more fun to sit in the football bleachers watching hundreds of Oak Park River Forest High School seniors including our son line up and get their diplomas and listen to speeches.  Love that Elgar.  Land of Hope and Glory.  Your parrot flies backwards...

I really, really want to show up at commencement wearing biker chick clothes and carrying a kazoo.  But I am a victim of convention (and not wanting to explain myself) so I have to hold my PTO mom personna together for another 5 days and then at last it will be over.  At least until NIU orientation on June 30th.  For NIU I want a t-shirt with a helicopter on it.  Just fair warning.

Improv for kids. Sounds fun although I think it was really good training for parenthood. It also came in pretty handy for moot court. Problem was I knew the "script" better than the person who wrote it, which led to interrupting a "judge" which led to not making it into round two, despite impressing the hell out of the judge who forgot what she wrote in the the script. But the guys who beat us won the whole thing anyway so we were doomed from the start.

I always thought law and theater were nearly indistinguishable at heart (except for the pay). And yes indeed, there are plenty of times when a parent needs good acting skills ... and a good deadpan.
