Mainstream
Jun. 4th, 2009 07:49 amAnother one of those mornings when I wake up snarled in the cultural mainstream through no fault of my own. The Chicago Tribune tells us about a jam-packed summer of "sci-fi" conventions. It's like when you're floating in a quiet tide pool off to the side of the beach and suddenly a wave crashes through and you get dragged out into the entire freaking ocean and you're thinking: what are all these fish doing here?
Sometimes when I am biking to ukulele club, I think I must be the only middle-aged woman in Oak Park currently riding a bicycle with a ukulele on the fender... but I have the sneaking suspicion I may not be. What do you do that's unique? Or OUGHT to be unique?

I draw a daily webcomic that's scheduled to last exactly twenty-five years. About King Arthur traveling through time.

BTW I'm gonna be at Windycon this year; I'm looking forward to seeing you and yours at the art auction!
